Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies

Resources on the Digital Technologies Hub are currently mapped to Australian Curriculum Version 8.4. This will be maintained while AC V9.0 is progressively implemented across Australia. Work is underway to map the website and resources to AC V9.0. 

Digital Technologies

The Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies includes the essential learning area content that teachers should teach and that we want students to learn. Opportunities to enrich and enhance learning are indicated through general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities.

Content in Digital Technologies is organised under 2 related strands:

Knowledge and understanding – the information system components of data and digital systems (hardware, software and networks)

Processes and production skills – the skills needed to create digital solutions. 

The Knowledge and understanding strand comprises 2 sub-strands. One sub-strand focuses on Digital systems and the other on Data representation.

The Processes and production skills strand comprises 7 sub-strands: Acquiring, managing and analysing data; Investigating and defining; Generating and designing; Producing and implementing; Evaluating; Collaborating and managing; and Privacy and security.
