Demystifying Artificial Intelligence (May 2018)
This webinar was presented by Dr Joshua Ho, computer scientist at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Sydney, New South Wales, and Martin Richards, Content Manger of the Digital Technologies Hub.
This session focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how we can teach AI concepts to primary and secondary school students. We explore the underpinning concepts of AI and discuss how we can prepare our students with the skills to de-mystify AI. Dr Ho also shared his experience on developing AI classroom activities for primary school students.
Dr Joshua Ho is a computer scientist at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Sydney, New South Wales. He is also a conjoint senior lecturer at the University of New South Wales. His laboratory develops cutting-edge computer programs to solve challenging problems in genetics and cardiology. Joshua has been working with the Ravenswood School of Girls to introduce AI concepts to Year 6 students.
