Drones, Data, and Digital Technologies - How they all fit together (July 2020)
Join Clair Allen, Kelly Soenario, and Dr. Karen Joyce, along with co-host Martin Richards, as they work through an approach to bring drones into your school, as part of a Digital Technologies implementation plan. Gain insights into some of the challenges, but also opportunities for using emerging technology to engage students who don't traditionally engage in STEM. The session is for primary and high schools at the early stages of implementation as well as schools that are well down the track and looking to review and revise their existing approach.
Martin Richards is the Content Manager for the Digital Technologies Hub.
Clair Allen is a Primary School Teacher and is the North Arm State School, Head of Teaching and Learning, Kelly Soenario is a High School Teacher and is the FNQ Principal STEM Advisor, Dept of Education, Dr. Karen Joyce is a Senior Lecturer at JCU and the Education Director for She Maps. They have all successfully implemented drone programs into their schools or programs, and offer advice and support to other teachers on the strategies that have worked well and ways to ensure that learning goes beyond just the drone.
